Justin Allgaier earned his fourth NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series win of the season at Nashville Superspeedway, holding off 18-year-old rookie Brent Crews by 1.4 seconds in the Sports Illustrated Resorts 250. It was Allgaier's third Nashville win and 32nd career victory overall. The two drivers engaged in intense side-by-side racing before Allgaier pulled ahead for good with 20 laps to go.
Allgaier paid tribute to two-time Cup Series champion Kyle Busch, who passed away on May 21 from pneumonia and sepsis, by replicating Busch's signature victory celebration. The emotional win comes ahead of Allgaier's 40th birthday, and he plans to compete in a Nashville triathlon the following day.
Crews, who started 33rd and led 45 laps, called it his most enjoyable race despite not winning. William Sawalich, Sam Mayer, and Brandon Jones rounded out the top five. Championship contender Jesse Love struggled after a pit road error dropped him a lap down, and he now trails Allgaier by 179 points in the standings.
